You are Hurting Your Hair and Here’s How!

We all use (and need) hair styling shortcuts from time to time, but some of these are actually doing your mane more harm than good. Don’t compromise on your hair’s health to save a few extra minutes in the morning – in return, your hair will reward you with gorgeousness!
1.    Over-heating
No one wants to spend hours holding up a hairdryer or a curling iron, but turning up the heat is not worth the damage it may cause your hair. Not only can this burn your scalp, but it dries out natural oils, often causing split ends, breakage and limp hair. If you have time, try air-drying your hair more often than using heating tools.
2.    Styling damp hair
You know that sizzle you hear when you put your straighteners on your hair? It’s not a good sign. You should avoid using hot tools on damp hair, no matter how quickly you need to get out the door. You are actually at risk of third-degree burns from the iron’s steam.
3.    Pulling your ponytail too tight
It’s great to have a nice, clean and put together ponytail, but tight ponytails pull out the fine hairs around your hairline. For a neat look, try natural styling hair gel instead, from time to time.
4.    Going straightener-crazy
When you’re in a rush, you might often be tempted to go through your hair quickly with a pair of straighteners – but resist the urge! Hair should be treated gently, and doing this over and over can cause burning.
